I just finished a year-long research study!!! Two girls and myself spent the last school year creating a research proposal and using the data we gather at our child development lab, we created our own data and presented it at MSU's University Undergraduate Research and Arts Forum. Our topic was Paternal Involvement in Children's Early Literacy Rates. While we did not find a lot of correlations for fathers with their children's literacy scores, we did find some correlations which means that this topic is very understudied! :) Becoming a research assistant at the MSU Child Development Lab has been one of the coolest experiences I've had thus far at MSU. It is a lot of hard work, but I love being able to work with adorable 3-5 year old children! Here are some pictures of my research:
