Day 2- Continued

I failed to mention a few things..... We also hiked a VOLCANO today! Still active. One of the coolest things I've ever seen. We drove up extreme steepness until we backed our car in to the parking spot just in case it erupted, we would have a quick escape to leave.  Then, we took pictures near the crater and hiked up steps even further for beautiful views! Tonight for dinner we had plantains, rice, and chicken fajitas.

We also had a special guest--- a local artist who has amazing work! He played music on a Saw, which he used a horse bow to strike on. The sound was so so cool. He also displayed his work and many people bought his paintings... I don't have enough money on me, but would have loved one! He was also signing everyone's purchased art and taking pictures with them.

Before bed, we had group reflection and everyone had to say their personal and group goal for the week followed by tying string around their wrist so they would not forget why they were here. My group goal: for us to complete the house and do above and beyond what is expected of us. My individual goal: learn new things about myself, the culture, and building in general.
