I feel like these last few weeks have been so depressing.
The Japan earthquake/tsunami
The Hawaii tsunami
A kid who graduated from my high school a few years ahead of me got in a bad accident that has horribly effected his brain and ability to process. Cannot move the right side of his body, difficulty saying the words he wants said, and is doing hours and hours of OT/PT/Speech Therapy every day.

Another kid from my grade also had open heart surgery months ago, and unfortunately experienced bad complications, leading her to have difficulty moving parts of her body, difficulty speaking, and processing.

At my internship a man recently tried joint replacement surgery on his right pointer finger. Unfortunately the surgery was ineffective and he had to get her pointer finger amputated. You may think losing one finger isn't so bad. But until you see with your own eyes the sadness someone experiences and how difficult it is to do the simplest of things, you just can't understand. Another patient also fell down the stairs months ago, horribly breaking her finger. Since December 17th she has not been able to put on her wedding rings and she is devastated.

Now more than ever is such an important time to feel thankful for your health, loved ones, and what you have in your life.
